With the daylight getting longer and spring feeling like it’s close, it has been a busy month at Enfield Lawn Tennis Club and we wanted to make sure you are aware of a few things and some opportunities to get involved with the club community.
- We have recently had a few numbers so Welcome to the club and we hope you are getting to play around the rain. For existing members please renew your membership as per the recent email.
- Winter leagues are coming to end with a few matches remaining. Our Women’s first team and Mens 2nd team both finished a respectful 3rd in their groups. Our Mixed 1s have a chance of promotion with one game to play, and our remaining teams have chances to stay up.
- Lianne and Nicky have started to plan the summer matches and if you want to play summer matches then please let Lianne (lianne3@hotmail.co.uk) and Nicky (nicky@nickykirk.co.uk) know.
- For the Men’s Teams Nicky will be using Tuesdays in April as trial sessions so please come along.
- This weekend we had an excellent quiz night run by Jim and Karen. Over 40 people were there and a good time was had by all. A truly great effort Jim and Karen. Thank you.
- We have a fun Tournament coming up on Wednesday 3rd April at 7pm to see if midweek tennis works for Tournaments.
- That date is also the deadline for members to sign up to this year’s Club Tournament – sheets are up in the clubhouse.
- On April 28th we are having a maintenance day to get the courts and clubhouse looking shipshape for the summer leagues. We will start at 10am and hope lots of people come so we can get it done quickly and then play some tennis.
- With the Easter Holidays approaching Neil wanted us to let you know that he has Tennis Camps running for the kids on Tues 2nd April to Friday the 5th and then the following week Monday 8th to Thursday 11th. Discounts for members. Email Neil at neilmansell@hotmail.co.uk to book your place.
- We are looking for someone to get involved with our Safeguarding and Welfare work at the club. So if you feel you can spare the time and want to get involved with the club then please get in touch. Imogen has more details of what’s involved and I am sure she would like to be contacted.
Lastly, we have started a couple of exciting ideas on ways to grow the club’s membership and offer. More details in the future if they come off.
