{"id":1105,"date":"2012-06-09T10:43:08","date_gmt":"2012-06-09T09:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.enfieldtennis.co.uk\/?p=1105"},"modified":"2012-06-09T10:43:08","modified_gmt":"2012-06-09T09:43:08","slug":"a-typical-british-jubilee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.enfieldtennis.co.uk\/index.php\/a-typical-british-jubilee\/","title":{"rendered":"A typical British Jubilee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a\u00a0quintessentially British afternoon on Tuesday, complete with overcast skies and rain, as our members gathered for ELTC&#8217;s Jubilee tennis tournament and auction.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-1107\" title=\"DSC_0834\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enfieldtennis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DSC_0834.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tennis kicked off around half past two with all six courts in action and a total of 26 players competing for the title of jubilee tennis tournament champion.<\/p>\n<p>After five\u00a0gruelling\u00a0rounds, the winner, winning a stonking 33 games of a possible 45, was Allen Clarke!<\/p>\n<p>While the barbeque continued inside dodging the rain, the auction kicked off.<\/p>\n<p>There were a vast array of lots on offer, ranging from cakes and holidays in the Alps.<\/p>\n<p>As the bidding continued and the lots continued to sell, ELTC managed to raise well over <strong>\u00a31,000 <\/strong>for the club!<\/p>\n<p>The generosity in support of our club was plain for all to see with people even outbidding themselves to raise that little bit more!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who came on Tuesday, the atmosphere was fantastic despite the rain!
