by Yes, that’s right, it’s that time of year already. So dust off your garishly coloured tennis equipment and clothes and take to the courts for turbo tennis.
It’ll also be the ‘grand’ opening of our brand new courts!
There are of course some slight rule adjustments to give it that ‘turbo’ edge:
- Doubles pairs are picked at random at the start of the day.
- Matches are timed and finish when the time is up.
- Let calls are abandoned so if a serve clips the net and bobbles into the service box, it’s an ace!
- Deuces are ‘sudden death deuces’. The returning pair get to choose which of them gets to return the serve. The winner of that one point wins.
- The player with the most games won at the end of the day wins the coveted trophy.
Although it’s not compulsory, bright tennis clothing is eagerly encouraged!
Entry is only £4 with a buffet included, with all profits going towards the club, so come and get involved. You’ve gotta be in it to win it!
