With Wimbledon only a few weeks away we wanted to update you on a few things coming up to help you play more.

Sunday June 14th – 10am to 1pm

We are running an open day for nonmembers to come along and play and to have a look at the club. If you would like be involved then please do email us on eltcgroupmail@gmail.com.

Saturday June 27th – 130pm to 330pm

We are running a Juniors Open Day to try and encourage some local youngsters to come along and give it a try. If you would like be involved then please do email us on eltcgroupmail@gmail.com.

Saturday July 18th – Local band Lost Chimes will be playing some music from around 630pm onwards. We will have a bar and BBQ available. The event is open to non members so please come along, enjoy the muisc and meet some local people.

Hello everyone and welcome to the new club year. Particularly those new members.
With the weather starting to get brighter hopefully more of you will get the chance to play a bit more over coming months.
We had a committee meeting last week and here a few buts that everyone should be aware of:

• Thursday May 7th – the clubhouse is being used for a polling station for the elections so will out of action, but the courts are available
• Saturday May 23rd – Quiz Night hosted by Jim. There is a notice is the clubhouse. If you are interested in coming but don’t have a place on a table then let us know please
• Club Tournament – signup by the May 9th to play in our Club tournaments. Either reply back or sign up on the sheets in the clubhouse. Finals day will be Saturday July 11th and Juniors day will be Sunday July 12th. This year – in a change to tradition – we plan to have an Open Singles Tournament (mixed) and then 3 doubles tournaments (Mixed, Men’s and Womens)
• June/July – Fun tournament, BBQ and then some music from Lost Chimes on one Saturday
• Summer Leagues – we have one women’s team and two men’s teams this summer. We would love more people to get involved with these so please to contact us if you want to get involved. They are mid week games with 630/7 start against local clubs. Matches get priority on evenings so please be aware on courts if they seem bust that it may be a match

Finally, I would like to thank all those who have handed out leaflets to promote the club. We now have several new members as a result. 

As ever, the club is organised and run by volunteers and if more people get involved it will be better for everyone. If you have ideas on events, we could run or ways to improve the club, then please do let us know and help us deliver them.

Despite the rain we have continued to have social events at the club this year with a fun tournament linked to the AGM and a poker night – thanks Mich for organising.

Next up is Darts night this Friday at 730pm.

Membership emails will be coming out soon and we have agreed to keep membership fees at their current level, new members are £99 for the first year and for every new member referred, existing members can get money back of their membership.

Boxing day we had 5 courts in action for the annual Boxing Day tournament with mulled wine and mince pies also being consumed.

September saw us run a couple of new events.

Caroline and Jon celebrated their birthdays with a charity doubles fun tournament. Raising £1000 for Alzheimer’s. Thank you to everyone who attended.

We also ran our first Sunday Singles Speed event where 8 of us played each other. Everyone enjoyed playing singles and a repeat will be happening soon.

Back in July we held our tournament finals day with 4 finals being played.

Earlier in the summer we held our annual finals days.

The Juniors day saw action on all 6 courts and excellent tennis played throughout. Many parents were there to watch and the BBQ and bar were busy all day.
